Garage floor is one kind of floors that over time will quickly lose its charm because of piles of oil, water, dust, dirt, and other things that we usually find in the garage. To restore the charm of the garage floor is not a difficult case because there are several ways that we can do, and one of them is by choosing to apply a coating on the garage floor. Coating for garage floor itself comes in several options that we can get by considering the type of flooring that we apply to the garage. When we have a garage floor made of concrete, then we can choose to apply garage floor epoxy.

Garage floor epoxy comes in several options that we can get as needed. The first is a water-based product that is offered at a price more affordable or expensive, easier to use, and capable of producing an anti-slip texture of the concrete. The second is a thicker product that offers a slick look of concrete and has a higher degree of thickness when compared with water-based products. Before applying garage floor epoxy, it’s good to check in advance that we have a concrete floor. Make sure the floor is free from dirt and did not have any damage. If we find any damage, including moisture, then we have to deal with it before applying the coating. When the damp concrete floor at a lower rate, then we can first apply a primer before applying the epoxy. To determine whether the concrete floor that we have had problems with moisture, we can check if there are crystals or white powder on the floor. When we found it, then there is a problem with moisture on the floor. In addition, we also can test it by applying the carpet on the floor and look after a few days – whether there is water underneath or not.

Humidity is a very important issue to note because if we do not address the problem, then we will not be able to apply garage floor epoxy. We can apply the sealer that works internally in cement instead of on the surface that will protect the cement and offered at an affordable price. Thus, we can apply the epoxy coating on the garage floor. Do not forget also to protect the epoxy coating with UV blockers because over time, epoxy can turn into yellow.
